In November, I was a defendant in a Maryland district court facing two criminal charges from an incident that happened last June. One of the criminal charges was for — no joke — failure to display a county registration sticker on my bicycle.
Today, members of the Montgomery County (MD) County Council introduced a bill, with unanimous council support, to repeal that mandatory bicycle registration law. Here are the events that led to the announcement.
